I smoke acrylic stemmed pipes almost exclusively. So much easier to maintain. I'm also a fan of the older DrG and Medico nylon stems. I still have a couple of vulcanite stemmed pipes for nostalgia but they rarely get smoked.

Considering the state of the Nation [and indeed the World] in 2024, I'm surprised anyone would be concerned about smoking. Live while ye may.

I've been in three wars. One cold, two hot. It's not pleasant for the most part but it unasses your head. A malaise has taken hold in the West that I think can only be dispelled with war. I don't know if it'll be civil or global. I will participate.

Independent shops can be good, preferably not in college towns. As for chains I like Aroma Joe's in Maine. Decent coffee, normal folk.

Shooting guns indoors isn't like in the movies. It literally rings your bell. My house gun is a S&W Model 10 .38 special. Six shots, mild recoil, accurate. Adrenalin does strange things especially if you've just woken up.
