Re: Pizza....

I live in New York City. You can't spit far enough not to hit some great pizza joints in NYC. Every nabe is loaded with plenty of dumps that still make some great pizza. The trick to eating NYC pizza: Ignore, and don't scrutinize your surroundings too closely. Just eat, and then, get out. BTW, no in...

Re: Newbie from Ohio

Hello, and welcome. Be vexed, no more. You're no different than most of us. We ALL went thru the learning experience and the worst thing you can do is give up even though you might be frustrated. The learning curve might take awhile, but you will eventually reach your own private pipe-smoker's Nirva...

Re: Remember these?

Growing up, you were either a Chevy man or a Ford man. Same with burgers. A man took his family to either McDonald's or Carrols. My father was a Carrols man... because my mother liked them more than McDonald's! I remember Lums, Beefsteak Charlie's and HoJo's. While the list said the last HoJos (How...

Re: Lane BCA. Any good?

Let BCA dry out for a few hours if U-R gonna smoke it straight. Good blending tobacco...it smooths out those rough edges when it's mixed into some ballsier blends.

Re: Looking for a large bowl churchwarden

Citizen B: I have no idea what repairmen might charge nowadays for making, or for fitting an alternate stem. I'm sure the rates that are charged, are very reasonable. Making a stem, and, fitting a stem.... are two different jobs. "Fitting" a standard, blank-Vulcanite or an acrylic Church W...

Re: Looking for a large bowl churchwarden

Size, matters... Longer, can be better. Since it's the Church-Warden's extra-long stem that functions as the qualifier, an alternative option: Do you now own a meh pipe that fits your needs -as far as bowl-size is concerned? If, yes.....give it a more exciting, dual-life, by converting it! Yes....mo...

Re: Using a Fresh Pipe Cleaner.

Using a "fresh" pipe-cleaner......I thought I read: using a FRENCH pipe-cleaner!

Sorry guys...I can't explain my error. I think some clergy might be posing on this forum.

Re: clean & De ghost an estate pipe

I never hesitate to buy and work on restoring old estate pipes. Making a silk purse from a sow's ear, is fun. Plan on making some charcoal dust. The stem/mortise: Scrub, clean, scour, the stem with scrubby pipe-cleaners, and high-proof alcohol Ditto: the mortise area. Get every bit of tar and residu...

Re: PSF Classic Forum Theme

Is there an option for font size? The original postings and comments, appear in a font-size that's a little too small for my old geezer eyes. I feel like I'm reading thru the "fine print" on a contract..... If there is a way for me to enlarge the font size, please clue me in. Many thanks.
