The aging will likely improve the tinned tobacco if the seal is good, no? So why not just hit the jar and save the tin for later? You've got over twice as much in the jar, so maybe if the older stuff fails to thrill you in the future, you can then pop the tin for something fresher.
Because sometimes the body just wants canned fish.

Keep the sealed tin sealed . 2014 MBGE is damn good stuff . Maybe only pop the tin if you really want a fresher MBGE . It darkens and gets richer over time ... your 2014 is probably pretty dark and damn good currently
