That one that looks like a last thread isn't actually a thread it's more of a "sealing ring" if anything. I just checked Walker to see what it would cost to have a fishtail made for this 303 I was gifted.. since they are known for this particular replacement. My first thought was that it was Walker Briar Works, too, who could certainly replace the stem with something that is beautiful and indestructible, but only interchangeable between different cob pipes. I love my forever stem from them and I can't even count how many times I've dropped it. I think it cost me $17 but that was, probably, about 12 years ago, so, for what it is, I think it was money well spent. It still looks like new.
