A $20 pipe knife that’s actually worth $20

I have this knife, just like yours. I only use the aerator spike. I don't like the blade because it is too sharp on one side and I find the dull side too dull, plus, the blade's shape doesn't get down neatly into the bottom of the bowl for a gentle ergonomic ream. I also find the tamper part too big to tamp deep in a bowl. After the charring light the tamper is fine but once the tobacco burns down, I don't have a rectangular pipe so It doesn't fit down when hot dense tamping is really necessary.

Is it worth $20. Yes. I spent the money and it is very handsome accessory, but I tend to use my Czech tool more, though I keep both of them side by side. YMMV.

Off topic, but I miss FM's Cellar, one if the few times I ventured from my OTC wheelhouse.

Now back to our regular after school special,

I've heard variations of this post recited at Dada poetry readings. A tip of my fedora in your direction, sir. :king:

Not all pipe knives are created equal.

One of these pipe knives is a better pipe knife than the other.
