I said this nearly a year ago and never followed up. Liar, liar pants on fire! I do have some favorite bundles but I haven't bought them in years. Years! When I think of my fave bundles, Consuegra, JR Alts, and Matacan are at the top. As far as I know they might not even make them anymore. The Connies were Frank Llaneza seconds and were delicious cigars. All of them were Honduran AFAIK. Matacan were Mexican puros and were also good with a medium but robust, earthy flavor.

The JR Alts, loved them so much. Way back in the day they were actually budget priced, say $15-$20 for a 25 count bundle of robustos or toros. They tasted nothing like the cigars they were the alternatives for, so I'm told, but I relished every one I ever smoked. I particularly enjoyed the JR Cuban Alts for the Cohiba robustos. It wasn't long after I found these great bundles that their prices skyrocketed to premium levels. I'm not paying premium prices for premiums, much less for cheap bundled cigars. I'm much happier with my machine made goodies nowadays.

After this short stroll down Cigar Memory Lane I think I might go see if my favorites are still out there. Just for old time's sake.

Ill be ordering the Casa Garcia and another ... probably Quorum , but at least a JC Newman product . I liked the factory throwouts too .

Anyway , I'll shoot you some when I get them . Ive allocated a portion of this stupid stimulus thing to tobacco . So whenever that hits , Ill order . I bought a couple bougie handmades the other day .... 10 freaking dollars a piece , ha ! Never had them before ... hell , I havent gad a majority of the brands out these days

I like how I have to check what year I'm in when I'm reading this thread.

This thread is not on fire. It is on a slow and steady burn, just the way you want your bundle cigar to be burning. :king:

Here are five bundles I can recommend. Palma Real (Jose Blanco) and Free Cuba advertize as long filler. New Cuba (Casa Fernandez), The Edge Fumas (Rocky Patel), and Factory Smokes (Drew Estate) are mixed filler. All of them run right at $35 for 25 cigars except for The Edge Fumas which come in 20 count bundles.

Mrs. B. thought Amazon had delivered a package for her. She handed the box to me with a disappointed look on her face. "This is a box of cigars for you," Mrs. B. said.

"Oh, good. I've been waiting for these," I said.

80 Finck Texas Smokers, packed in polystyrene bags with stickers on the front and back. No cedar box. No upcharge. Simplicity in itself. The whole package is functionality obvious. http://www.finckcigarcompany.com/produc ... s_smokers/

I ordered four bundles of Perfectos, of course. These cigars may be seconds but they are perfect enough for me. Snag a bundle and change your life for the better. 80 Finck cigars. I should be good for 2 months, maybe a little bit less, depending on how the next two months go. Longer or shorter, I am looking forward to more than a few enjoyable days smoking these tasty cigars. Bring it on!
I have a bundle and half left as of today.

I just posted in the Ways thread that I had a factory throw out. I bought 20 for 25 big ones so I didn’t have high hopes but I figured they would be great cigars to puff while doing yard work, walking the dog, or even for the occasional friend who doesn’t really smoke often or give a rats ass about nuance and mouthfeel and leather notes and touches of woody earthy blah blah. And they seem to be almost perfect for that. The only gripe I have is the construction isn’t always very good (I know what do you expect). So far I’ve smoked probably five of them and 2 of them unraveled on me. It’s not a huge deal since under that wrapper is a HTL binder keeping everything together enough to continue smoking. I’m probably going to keep testing the bundle waters and I’ll poke in here every year or two when there is a new post to see what’s new and exciting in the world of bundled cigars.

Unraveled .. that sucks . I recently tried some in Florida , down in palm coast , a 59 Connecticut I think . It was a nice smoke and then it just died at a certain point but pretty near the end .
Where did you order it from ?

Im going back down to Palm Coast the day after Easter ... Flagler Beach has the best seafood Ive ever eaten ...

If I win the lottery , every member of PSF is getting free hotel and dinners on me at Flagler Beach . If the lottery is big enough , Ill buy JF Germains too . Just gotta win in first

Me too brother . Ill call it the ruffionpalooza of flagler beach , which is a semi sleepy town , the way it used to be in Florida when I was a kid .

Actually , if I were to win a sizeable lottery , Id buy a house there . I pretty much hate florida but I dig Flagler beach
