I have a Brave and the Bold featuring Wildcat laying around here somewhere----I think it cost 50 cents. If I find it, I'll mail it to you. I'm not going to read it again. It's total Haneyverse, but where would have found another Wildcat appearance back in the day?

Not a gaming or RC racing and paintball supply store with the original comic book shop name on the door and hardly any back issues or any comics at all.

I found it because I like to buy local when I can and have been searching for comic book storage supplies. My internet search and visits and phone calls eventually lead me to this shop and the supplies I needed. I also found this missing piece of my childhood. I could have stayed for hours. Actually I could have stayed for more hours than the two and a half that I did! I could have spent more than I did, but I want to continue to go back and feel young again like I did yesterday.

Apologies for droning on and on...

Ah, shoot! You reminded me I was supposed to go to a shop that is supposed to have awesome quarter bins. They're only open on Saturdays and Sundays. When I asked why, I was told because those are the days when most people visit the store. I don't want to be elbow-to-elbow going through the long boxes in a crowd of fanboys, but, luckily, the things I am interested (Silver and Bronze Age) don't interest generations outside of ours. Most people wouldn't know Joe Kubert if I slapped them with his picture glued to my hand.

Enjoy that book. Maybe I'll score something similar next week---if I remember what day it is.
Quarter bins! I'm moving to the Big Easy! Dollar bins are the norm here, usually with a buy 10 for 5 bucks thing.

You are correct, the things you and I and many our age would be after aren't on the radar for today's crop of fanboys and that's okay with me!

Talking with the owner, the new trend is 1st appearance issues, no matter how obscure, betting on the "next big thing." He said that like in the 90s, the non fan speculator is driving these issues up.
I never " collected " with monetary thoughts in mind . I wish I had though . I mean , why not . I remember when Kirby was doing what I considered goofy shit ... Devil Dinosaur , machine Man etc .. I always thought ... jeez , I wish he'd do all of the Captain America issues . His Captain America art is my favorite . He did a good number of them , so thats cool . 70's stories were pretty good , in general , but 60's Marvel I think is outstanding . Captain Marvel [ Starlin ] was off the chart !
Currently , Im looking at Hopalong Cassidy stuff from way back in the day . They are really good stories .

Id like to find this one at a reasonable price . I like thick comics with multiple stories

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Like you I've never collected for the money, I'm a reader. While I have purchased issues in great condition if the price was right, I've never been afraid of buying a tired book in sad shape, again, if the price is right.

I dig Kirby art. His Cap is the best.!

Gotta head to work. As they say in the comics, to be continued...

Going through the collection, replacing all bags and boards. Boards seem ok, but bags have really deteriorated. They look okay until you take the comic out and they have turned a brownish green. I'll save the boards for a friend, but tossed all the old bags.

Anywho, I haven't started any real cataloging, but I've made mental notes on some missing issues I've been aware of. But, the craziest one so far is

I know I had it and it's gone! Not sure what happened or where it disappeared to, but the hunt is on!!

@mrpipster I'm a big Jonah Hex fan. Michael Fleischer's stuff was great (so was his Spectre). I like the Conan mythos very much, but was never a regular reader. I have a few issues here and there, but no runs. I was a fan of the short lived King Conan series however.
