I use boiling water for reshaping stems and an alcohol lamp for badly oxidized stems.

Ron V. knows when I am serious so he will know that I am not making fun or trying to be funny to get back on topic, even though I am a serial derailer.

I do want to know, Ron, is what do you use the alcohol lamp for? Also to reshape the stems? I have more questions depending on how you answer this but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

And, to get off topic again, and back to birds, remember those two cuckoo Pigeon sisters?

I use the alcohol lamp to burn off the oxidation and raise small tooth marks.
