I recently read 'Looking Backward' by Edward Bellamy. There used to be Bellamy clubs all over the country, not as popular as the I.O.O.F. but enough to be a constituency. There is a reason Bellamy clubs didn't prosper, but that is the subject for another, more controversial, thread.
