It's coming in two weeks, the awesome 31 days of March Meer Madness™ 2019! For those who don't know, we give special attention to our sea-foam pipes, smoking them as often as possible and posting these smokes in the WAYS thread. MMM™ is not exclusive to meerschaum...most of us continue smoking our briars and cobs as well.
This will be my first MMM™ to participate in, I never had a meer before. Now I have two, both gifts from fantastic forum members. If you don't have a meer, start combing through eBay looking for those great bargain meers out there. Maybe you've been considering a meer but just didn't have the reason or motivation to buy. Well, now is your chance!
Let's use this thread to post about MMM™, to alert the meerless of bargains you've found, and just general nonsense regarding all things meer.
When March gets here we will close this thread and start posting our MMM™ smokes in the regular March WAYS thread.
This is our first MMM™ here at Pipe Smokers Forum, and I'd like to dedicate it to the memory of Dan Nathan, Mister Moo, and his awesome cabbage meer!

I have 5 meers (6 if you count the brown bird) and I plan on working them like a rented mule next month!

No meer yet. Hoping to find one that I like when my refund comes in. I have a couple special days coming in March that I want to get a couple special pipes for. Hopefully I can join you gents in the Meer Madness!

Think I have one around here....
Just picked up what appears to be a no-name meer from eBay in a batch of six along with a humidor/stand.
First question: how do I clean a meerschaum pipe? The outside doesn't appear to have colored much so idk if it's a block meerschaum, as I'm guessing the pressed stuff doesn't breathe in the same way

I clean up the internals on mine the same as I do briar just with a little bit of restraint. I use isopropyl and scrubby cleaners, but very little isopropyl. I don't let my meers cake so if there's any in the chamber I ream it carefully or use a bit of fine sandpaper to take it back just to the chamber wall. On a smooth finish I'll also wipe the outside down with a little isopropyl and then give it a hot wax bath.OfPipeAndPen wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:30 am Just picked up what appears to be a no-name meer from eBay in a batch of six along with a humidor/stand.
