That Medico stem lines up nice on the shank; I just replaced it crooked after checking the tenon. It takes a filter, which isn't my favorite, but whomever cleaned it up did a great job on the pipe. The pear shape isn't my favorite, but I really wanted to check out this Yello Bole Two Way Bit system. It's an interesting roof-of-the-mouth concept, similar to the Peterson bit, but without the discomfort in the irregular bit shape. Stinger is present, so it's whole. Can't wait to try them both out.

I love both of these shapes. And that button is something I have never seen. It is either terrible or genius. Let us know!

And that Checker is a fine pipe. They are gigantic but I am sure it’ll smoke like the dickens!
Thanks! You know, I understand Peterson's purpose in their upward flow; I just never understood why they implemented such an uncomfortable button (for me). I'm sure it has something to do with technology at the time and the ease in manufacturing with said technology. With this Two Way Bit button being shaped so closely to a regular button, I have great expectation it'll be perfectly comfortable as it distributes flavor into the roof and all areas around the mouth. It should be interesting and pleasant - unless I smoke something bitey. I'll keep you all posted.

I have to modify the way I hold the pipe in my mouth when smoking a P-Lip.

Normal button, the button rest between my teeth. A P-Lip, the button goes past the teeth and the tongue rests under the button. The teeth bite down over the stem past the button.

I think you’ll have to do something similar for that pipe. Or maybe not

Got home Thursday and my new Nuttens was waiting for me.

Every year Bruno does a Pipe Sale where the profits go to preserving the old Ropp Factory. These are very old Ropp stummels he hand finishes and makes stems for.

Last year I got the Acorn that is dedicated to Semois.

This year I got my favorite shape. And in the traditional sense. A stunner!
