I've grown interested in rhubarb recently. Listen to this lady's CRAZY rhubarb story:
I'm researching if I can grow rhubarb in our climate. When I was a kid, we had rhubarb in our garden every year. Our rhubarb plant outlived our dog!
Anyone know anything about this wonderful vegetable perennial?

I'm no expert but I know it's a surprisingly hardy plant that winters well over here.

This spiritual sour celery is one of my favorite things to cook! Pie.. Jelly.. Cookies.. I like to chop it up.. Saute it in butter and season with cardomom and sugar and toss it on Irish oatmeal. Compotes.. Sauces.. Even as a savory style vegetable. It's freakin delicious!

I have never eaten any of this. I’ve heard of rhubarb pie though.

Earlier this afternoon I read that it has to be considered an annual plant in the south. As for me, I've never tasted it.Whalehead King wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:36 pmI want to try to grow it. I love rhubarb. I grew up on garden-fresh rhubarb pie.
Don't even get me started talking about parsnips. That's another thread.
