The menu still says "Homemade New York Style". And no one informed me that Alpo was now being served in it's place. Yes, I'm pissed.

Next time I'll get it with sausage gravy slathered on top.

Back in the 1950s we had a pet Cocker Spaniel who was fed Alpo dogfood. When mom opened the can and fed the dog...the aroma imprinted itself on my brain. CBH looks and smells exactly the same as dogfood.
I always loved CBH but it's too salty!
Please post some recipes so I can cut down on the salt content. WOOF!

"Corned beef is salt-cured brisket of beef.[1] The term comes from the treatment of the meat with large-grained rock salt, also called "corns" of salt. Sometimes, sugar and spices are also added to corned beef recipes."

OK.. I got 3 things to say about Corned Beef Hash..
1. As far as canned dog food hash.. I prefer Dinty Moore.
2. Home hash is easy.. I gently simmer a brisket for 3 hours in 50/50 Dark Beer & Water. Pickling spices include but are not limited to.. Clove, peppercorns, coriander, bay leaf etc. Cool.. Then slice thin.. Then dice.. Small diced par cooked potatoes, white onion.. Salt and pepper to taste. Its all about the sear.. Hot pan, hot oil.. Sizzle sizzle flip.. Hot sauce.. Bam! Eat! ......now smoke.
3. The best corned beef hash I have ever experienced in my life.. Was at Belisle's Restaurant in Garden Grove California. (Pictured above, 1955-1995) It was right up the street from Disneyland. The place was a gem. Their CBH changed my life for the better.
Thank you,
