I dont own a shtf rifle . I'd grab my Winchester model 70 (30.06)and my 38 . My best friend has everything in the world practically and if the shtf , he and I and some others would be working together . My next rifle , id like a ruger 10/22

Currently , I'm low on ammo

No SHTF rifle here either. Only a Harrington and Richardson single 20 gauge and a tube fed .22 Marlin Model 60. Recently however they have both been at the ready. Go figure...
I wonder if "blame Wildcat" will become a theme here? - Fr_Tom

I think my best use during a shtf situation would be having a 22 hornet from a few hundred yards helping to clear a path for the younger guys

The .22 hornet is a legendary poachers rifle here in the north country. Soooo many white tails have been illegally taken with a 22 hornet it would make your head spin!

I can lay an empty can of rc cola on it side with the tab popped . At an elevated position at 200+ yards , I can shoot into the tab opening . Its trajectory is so straight at long lengths ... its a hell of a round

I'd be impressed if it was 350 yards, but I guess 200 will do. Lol.

Sadly all of my firearms were lost in that terrible boating accident, over deep water, in the Atlantic ocean. So sad too.

Since I am of an age where I am not going to be running, I will have all of my firearms at hand in my house at the top of the hill in the most concervative County in Texas. If it comes to me it gets shot.
God and Texas!
