For all those who scoff at a .380, remember the first rule of a gunfight: "Bring a gun . Caliber doesn't matter."

True enough. I actually love .380 as a caliber. I even had a little pocket gun in .25 ACP that was a riot and probably would have done the job. I realized after a while of carrying that I am less worried about taking down a grizzly, so .357 magnum was a little much.

I haven’t had a .380 for a long time and decided I needed it. It slips easily into my front pocket, shirt or pants.

I had a Colt Mustang .380 way back when but sold it when I wanted something else. Anyway, it’s a Ruger LCP, .380, 6+1. Duh.

Every time I buy five pounds of tobacco or a pistol I’m reminded how glad I am to live in the Good Ol’ USA and not Australia or somewhere!

I can't imagine living in a State where you can actually walk around wearing a holster on your hip like a Cowboy. That would never happen in NJ. We are more concerned about recreational weed and sanctuary.

Well, it's pretty awesome, believe me! lol

I think open carry has been legal here since 2016 and I can count the number of people of seen doing it on one hand. I'm kind of surprised about that really but it looks like more people are interested in concealed carry so they don't draw attention to themselves. I'd rather slip that little .380 in my pocket than strap on a holster and a full sized pistol for open carry.

I'm sure it is! I guess people all assume everyone is carrying, but if it were me I think I'd sport the holster. It just looks cool.

Some open carry here. I think it helps those with Hoplophobia get over it. Regardless, as the great Robert Heinlein said it best
"An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life." - Robert A. Heinlein
Hillbillies get it.
Very congenial in these parts.
Freedom scares people, which is sad. The anti-tobacco laws are an example as well.

I used to live near Kennesaw, Georgia where it is "required" that you own a firearm, and carrying one is highly encouraged. You never heard of crime happening there, but you did heard stories of a guy who would visit the local diner dressed like a stereotypical Mexican bandito... I'm talking shell belts crisscrossed over his chest and a revolver on each hip. Would have been a sweet site to see.

Imagine the peace of mind knowing you can eat your meal without fear of some miscreant walking in and shooting up the place. One look at the ol' bandito and they'd hightail it to the parking lot and find another restaurant to shoot up.

Nice little pistol. I am a firm believer in the "carry nothing that does not start with a 4" fan club but .380 is not to be sneered at, it will get the job done and Ruger makes fine pistols.
I carry a Walther PPQ in .40 S&W for my "pocket pistol." Mainly in summer, when I am wearing shorts.
