Well, today was about the most unproductive day ever. Then I came home and tried cooking pasta in our new Instant Pot, and wound up with something very similar to what comes out of a ChefBoyardee can. Not my finest hour. Dear Sweetie had to come to my rescue by cooking up something else. Yeesh.

On the porch now, this bored out cob burning SV Whiskey something or other. Club soda on the side.

. Birmingham is the outhouse of Alabama , it's really nasty
Yes sir you've hit the nail right on the head, but just like Atlanta and every other large city in the country it didn't used to be that way. There was a time when I wasn't afraid to walk the streets of downtown Birmingham and often did with my, now, wife when we were dating so many years ago. My Brother moved to Atlanta in the mid '60's. and I spent time with him every summer for several years. He would head off to work and I would hop on a bus and head downtown. No fear of being alone there at all! It's really sad what has happened to our cities.

Yes sir #2, you're right about this gosh awful heat. I try to work some out in my yard every day and about 10 minutes into my project I'm soaked with sweat. I work about 20 minutes and cool for 10 or more. I've not smoked a pipe today simply because I don't care to sit out in the heat after working in it for most of the morning and early afternoon.

Set me up with a 5 gallon jug. That should get me through a week and then I can figure out if I like it or not
