I am claiming it is a gourd calabash with a meerscham bowl.

An oddly-carved gourd. Barely smoked when I got it from eBay and no maker’s marks though it appears quite similar to the Pioneer’s I’ve seen. Certainly gourd though - by weight and texture and smell? But really. Bought a new meerschaum insert from Meer-queen and removed lots of oxidation from the collar and stem. Smokes like a champ. It does need a replacement cork liner but I’ve been to frivolous to fork out $15 for a sheet of cork that I have exactly one use for

orange is likely due to the filters I used. But it is fairly orange - I think there’s a kind of lacquer applied to the gourd

so it is actualy a gourd that is hollowed out, then a shaped meershcaum bowl is inserted, and finished... :?:
