Walked down to the river around lunch to smoke a bowl of half and half in the mark twain and toss a few flies, while bent over to tie some fresh tippet on I stood up and there was a black bear about 8-10’ from me. Jumped the living crap out of me. I’ve been close to bears like that before but I’ve never had one sneak up on me like that lol. Needless to say I dropped my pipe and had to wipe mud off of it lol.
