Started the day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee on the front porch. Now smoking Exhausted Rooster in a meerschaum. Tree trimming is today's task.

Half & Half in the new meer. Man this blend has been hitting the spot like no other.
I got a pouch of Velvet to retry, to test and see if I still think it tastes like blue cheese dressing. That's up next I think.

I'm still working through this ounce of Hearth and Home Louisiana Red Pipe that Puff sent me. It's very dry now, which I find confounding because it's been raining for two days----so much so that the roof is leaking in the inn where the shingles were removed by Hurricane Ida. It's always something.

I am still missing my Zippo which I misplaced during early when the power went out. What was that, two weeks ago? I do have power now but I don't have my Zippo, only a gun-shaped single torch lighter that I use to light cigars.

I was going to smoke this tobacco in my Medico Offer pipe, since good things go together, but I don't want to use the torch lighter on this big-bowled brand new Medico so I'm using the featherweight yellow-Bowl Checker. I have worn off the stamp that says what model it is. All I can make out is "UKELELE," which cannot be right. This is the pipe that has the stem held together with a zip tie.

With a lighter like this I could have smoked this tobacco in a brylon but, heck this Yello-Bole has been through so much. Parts of the outside are stained black. It's not that old. The bowl is small enough, too, that I can finesse the intense blue flame of this butane lighter without damaging the briar.

It's a nice day.
