I like my clay pipe. I'm not in the market for another pipe but I'm thinking about buying another clay. Call me old-fashioned, you won't be the first, but these are solid smokers. They can take all sorts of fire abuse. I relight with a four-torch cigar lighter to really get down in the dottle and get the last bits of smoke out of a seasoned bowl of burned-to-essence tobacco. The only drawback is the clay stem. I don't enjoy the through-my-lips clench that I have to perform with a clay stem to protect my delicate teeth, but, that doesn't cancel out the ease and ghost-free smoke-ability of these pipes. I like my clay. I like it a whole lot.
I never need a pipe cleaner when I smoke my clay.

I've never smoked one, but have been tempted.

Clays are awesome. I actually prefer them to Meerschaum. You can get them over at P&C with Vulcanite stems, but you do lose some of the moisture mitigation that the clay stems have. You might also look over at Penn Valley Pipes.. they have tons of clays in every conceivable configuration.

I love my clays, best little smokers there are! Highly recommend them!
Under full four-torch lighting conditions, a clay pipe heats up faster than a brylon pipe. Unlike other pipes, though, both of these pipes can take a burning and keep on churning.
I'm looking for a clay with a reed stem, or, if they make them, one with an acrylic stem. This latter seems unlikely, though. I want a more comfortable bit than the standard clay bit.

Here's a clay with the reed stem, looks kinda small though.

I really like that one. I have a few of the Old Dominion cobs, and reed fits my bite nicely.Ellis You wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 7:31 am Here's a clay with the reed stem, looks kinda small though.
