Hobby blocks anyone?
Thank you guys for the posts and the information. That warhammer poker looks awesome!!! I've been thinking about making one but honestly have no idea where to start in terms of staining or anything like that or rinsing touches. Cheers guys!! Happy friday!!

Alright, who bought up all the blocks at P&C?
25 bucks, out of stock, out of stock, out of stock.

I did one over the winter. Rough shaped it on a scroll saw, then went to work with files. The files have sharp teeth for serious material removal. Files for metal working do not work on briar. Finally finished shaping with a sander. Went back with those toothy files to give it a wire-rusticated finish. Stained with leather dye that was cut with alcohol. Ended up with a green, wire-rusticated bent Dublin. Only do this if you have lots of free time.
I was wondering the exact same thing!Citizen B wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:42 pm https://www.pipesandcigars.com/p/hobby- ... s/1502028/

It's kinda fun to do. And when you're finished, it actually serves a purpose. Unlike sailing ships in a bottle. Or jigsaw puzzles.Kevin Keith wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 10:26 pm I’ve been threatening to get a block and make a Good Night pipe for years and now, thanks to this thread, I’m really threatening it! lol
