It could be the drilling in the stem or user error. Just keep using a pipe cleaner with that one.. no biggie.

Does it gurgle with every blend? My old fav shop pipe (WDC Bulldog) never gave any indication of a gurgle until recently when I put this Stanwell Jubilee in it. I have a bent Dublin Barontini that also gurgles with the Jubilee. Maybe it’s the Blend?

Non-filter pipe? Put a chamfer on the end of the tenon and maybe that will help.

Is it a pipe that has a filter or no filter? Pull the stem out of the pipe and look at the face of the tenon (the part of the stem that slips into the pipe) if it's flat on the face at the air hole, taper (chamfer) it. Easiest to accomplish with a countersink bit for a drill.

No problem. Hope it helps. If not the pipe may just be one of those wet smokers. You can also try to smoke some tobacco that's crazy dry in it to start breaking in / building cake.
