I think I may have seen Ed James' (Ozark Southpaw) display board and pipes behind the manager in one of the scenes. Rest in peace Ed!!
Very cool history! If I died at my job.. they would take it outta my check somehow.. 😆

Easy. This is a family forum  . The pipe is great. Somehow it does really well with perique blends.

I have a saved link in my bookmarks that is a deep archive of a particular brand of American pipe that utilizes the Venturi effect. American ingenuity.

Give me a minute. I am going to see if I can find it.....

Here it is. Be prepared to learn a lot about something that you have never thought about until now. http://www.thepipe.info/index.html

An American original. I am going to smoke my red The Smoke right now.

I can talk about Kirsten pipes, too.

I love these oddball pipes invented to make a better mousetrap.

There is nothing wrong with the old mousetrap. It doesn't stop people from trying. Trial and error.

I would like to just take a second to highlight a long gone American pipe institution... John's Pipe Shop in Los Angeles.

As was the trend of the time, they stamped factory Pipes with their "John's" logo. I love mine.. great smoker! I scored the matchbook from a collector friend to compliment the piece.

The coolest thing was their advertising gimmick.. a horse drawn wagon hauling a gigantic meerschaum pipe through the streets of Los Angeles.

Talkin bout some super old "brylon" lol..

Actually, I am showing off this 97 year old REDMANOL pipe. The Pipe is made from a very early heat resistant plastic like material called Redmanol. The redmanol chemical corporation eventually merged with the Bakelite Corp. To become the world's first plastic.

She's a pretty red plastic princess.. 😆
1925 .. Wow!

I wish I had found JSP pipes when Joel Shapiro started making them. I recall a group buy on a long gone forum. I’ve got two rusticated and I did a direct purchase from Joel just before he quit pipe making.
The 2 rustications have a plastic saddle bit, and another bent apple is a smooth with a Cumberland stem.

These pipes smoke wonderfully. I couldn’t figure out exactly why, but many makers said it was exact draw hole positioning.
I’m usually banging around the garage with an older Brigham which are built like tanks.

Joel had to retire from a nerve condition in his hands. I do hope he’s still around. I grabbed a screen shot from Smoking Pipes of Joel’s work.
