The Black Ghost is going to auction
I’m not sure. I know the car had sat for many years. Some guy who knew the car helped get it back running and the son apparently had the funds to get it back road worthy. I’ve seen videos of the son driving it and talking about how awesome it was. I say I wouldn’t sell it but if it was the car or my kids going hungry..... well I’d get myself a second job. If that didn’t work out I’d have to think about selling. I’m guessing it’s all about the Benjamins. I’ve sold stuff to buy up. I sold my first car (‘73 Road Runner) to use the money as part of the down payment for our first house. I sold a Super Blackhawk and an AR 15 to buy the ring my wife wears. Best trade up I ever made.

You can put a couple of kids through trade school and not sell the car. He's probably going green.Ronv69 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 9:02 pmSo the son was gifted the car in 2015,and promised to keep it for his son. Did the grandson decide to sell it?ncrobb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 6:23 pm I really didn’t think this guy would ever sell his Dad’s car, but it’s going to Mecham’s.

If you don’t know the story of the Black Ghost:

The rarity of the car with the provenance and history, this thing is gonna go for many shiny pennies. I’m guessing it’ll push $500K.
Not criticizing. I sold my Hemi Roadrunner in 73 for 835 dollars because I needed the money in the middle of a gas crisis. 500k will put a couple of kids through medical school.

Ok, I’ll admit I was wrong when I guessed this car would be a half a million dollar car.

The car itself, without being the Black Ghost, is valued at $350K. Crazy numbers, I remember when nobody cared about Mopars. Now, A bodies bring as much as B bodies.

Did it sell? It's too painful for me to sit through all those fine rides to see a specific car.ncrobb wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:14 am Ok, I’ll admit I was wrong when I guessed this car would be a half a million dollar car.
