ImageI drove about 45 miles to Stag Tobacconist in Scottsdale today. I was expecting to see maybe 20 pipes at best, but instead I saw close to 200. More than 100 for sure. Everything from $20 basket pipes to $600 for some artisans, and at least 50 estate pipes. Plenty of Petersons, Nordings and Castellos. And at least a few of all the other popular brands. A really good selection of tobacco. They even have a couple bricks of Cornell and Diehl small batch of Folklore. I picked up a tin of Jacknife Plug, and two ounces of one of their house blends. A mild aromatic which has hints of plum and maple. Really good. And I picked up a Lorenzo for $40. The gentleman working welcomed me behind the counter and told me to get a better look at everything. I have nothing but good things to say about this place.

Yeah it’s almost an hour away, but might become a biweekly occurrence. They have two patios, and a lounge, and a humidor. Their pipe and tobacco offerings are balanced with the amount of cigars. And they take orders over the phone. They got Nordings from $70 up to $300, I like the customer service more here than any other pipe shop I’ve been to. I felt welcome to stick around.

You cannot beat a good in person experience. I can’t think of a B&M that deals in Pipes that I’ve had a negative visit to.
