Wider bowl diameter
I have a cob that I want to widen the bowl. Should I use a drill bit slightly larger than current bowl size and drill down? Is there another way or how should I go about this?

I use a 7/8 in drill bit and clean it up with a dremel. I suspect you could probably just use the dremel and it would be better centered (and take longer). The bit ALWAYS goes a little crooked. The bowl ID will soon enough match your reamer, so it is not all that critical if the cake is thicker on one side.

Ive got a huge drill bit that was brought to a machine shop and tapered . The tapering makes the conical shape . I dont know if a cob is conical , Id have to look . If not , Id imagine a slightly wider bit on a drill press is the way to go . The drill press drills straight down with no wonkiness
