I know this isn't a support forum for grieving pet owners, but Lucy was as much a part of my smoking ritual as my accoutrements. I'm missing her like hell tonight.

Doc, your girl reminded me of a jet black Luci we used to have. She liked to cuddle, never gave us trouble, and she always had something funny to show us. Condolences.
Posting yesterday's smokes outside real estate class. It was a breezy 38 F degrees, so I had to enjoy the pipe in the truck. First, a bowl of CAO Cherrybomb in the Willard. Then a bowl of Lane Dark Red in the Dr Grabow.

Puffing on a year-old batch of Astleys 44 with a heavy heart. There's an empty spot next to me here where my best pal always laid down. My thanks go out to to Bruyere "Tsal" Royale, Mike Dennison, and Longshanks for your condolences for the death of my boon companion, Lucy. Time mends broken hearts.

Seems yesterday was a terrible day for Father Tom as well; he lost his father-in-law. My greatest sympathies to you and your family Father.

Here's to hoping 2019 brings us all some better days.

At the risk of launching into a sermon, one of those qualities of life is that our days are numbered. It is very hard to lose a loved one - 4-legged or 2-legged. We have an appreciation for the fact that they played a more significant role in our lives than we may have realized. Understanding that we are all mortal does not make it much easier. My wife knew she would bury her father some day. She just did not expect it to be this week.

Doc - My heart hurts for you. I lost a furry friend of mine a little while ago, and as much as I liked to imagine I was a big tough man, it really cut me to the core. It felt like I had lost a child, and I still get misty eyed when I think about him. I am so sorry that you had to lose her, especially in that way.

IRC Old Colonial in the Bent Roma. Really enjoying this cold, clear morning.. although I did just notice that there is a machete sticking out of the ground in my neighbors yard, so that has me a little concerned(zombies?).
