Heres a joke : I have to explain the background first so you get it.
In Uk we have an annual 2 week convention in the Olympic Hall. They show everything from latest cooking gadgets, Magic cloths that pick up dirt,Magic packs of cards that make you a "real" magician. This is called "THE IDEAL HOMES EXHIBITION" Now you're set up for the gag.
Watson, I must go to an exhibition, ....... Watson: Ideal Holmes ?

Dad, do you know who was Sherlock Holmes' best friend? - What son?

Sherlock Holmes and Watson are out hunting. Watson has a buck in his sights, when holmes throws a rock near it, and, frightened, it runs away. "What the hell was that?!" He asks. Holmes looks at him for a second.. It's sedimentary. My deer, Watson.

Sherlock Holmes: My dear Watson, you have a mole on your right upper thigh.
Watson (Amazed): Yes! How did you know? Holmes: Simple my dear Watson, you forgot to put on your pants.

Ha, that's a good one. Is that you in the video? If so, it's nice to put a face to a name. I like reading through the 'picture smoking your pipe' posts. Once I get more familiar with the forum features I'll be able to post some pics.

Aye
Thought so. He defined Sherlock Holmes.
Actually, William Gillette defined most of Holmes' identifying quirks in performance. He introduced the calabash pipe and the deerstalker cap. He got rich playing Sherlock Holmes on the stage.

Here is the Wikipedia article about him:

Here is a link to the Wikipedia page for Gillette Castle, the home he built off the earnings of his Sherlock Holmes performances that is now a state park:

I would have just linked to the park's page but it's shut down due to COVID-19 and the Wikipedia page has more information and pictures of the castle.
