Matt , I didnt know your were a Navy Corpsman ? I have a lot of respect for those guys
I went FC and then chose to go Deck Ape , though I had a mess specialists billet [ small craft bending rues thing ] , so I cooked too sometimes . I wasnt into launching missiles and just wanted to be a " sailor " . I scored high on the asvab and they talked me into FC because it was the next hardest thing next to Nuke , which was the only thing the Navy wouldn’t train me for . I just wanted to be a sailor and after a bit of time I got to . Really , boatswain mates are the closest thing to a sailor . Some time afterwards , I sailed tugs as civilian , but only after I sold the pipe shop . If I could somehow live in Southern Mountains AND sail Tugs .... I'd be the happiest guy on the planet . I sailed LCU and LCM and I was wanting to get on Hydros but it never happened , unfortunately , and didnt seem like it would so I got out when my enlistment was up . I really like tugs and " tug work "
