..............could anyone share any history/knowledge behind the "Old Salt" pipes from Wally Frank ???? Thanks ahead.

I'm guessing . They seem like a pretty standard Frank pipe . Often times certain color combos etc are given a model name , as an example . Like say , a Kaywoodie relief grain , a kaywoodie campus or kaywoodie standard
