No. Unless you are running a tackle business, that falls into the category of space-taking gadgets. Of course the only people worse about collecting stuff than pipe smokers are fishermen.

Got one for Christmas and haven't tried it yet to see if its better than just using a pencil to hold the spool.

thank you, sir...lemme me research it a bit and see if it's worth the trouble. i mostly fly fish so if adaptable to that kind of tackle, can work a deal
