Stem replacement?
I emailed Walker and got a response from a gentleman named Mike Myers who told me to reach out to Tim West for my specific needs.Houtenziel wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:17 pmWhoops.. I just checked Walker to see what it would cost to have a fishtail made for this 303 I was gifted.. since they are known for this particular replacement. There is a banner on their page that they have shut down their business..

I guess, despite the address being listed as the same, they are different.

Hopefully you have more luck, the only 3 hole KW I have are on my Regents, those are not donors. Might have threaded fitting that'll work, I'll have to test some.JTWilliams wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 11:26 amSame here...lookin around the inventoryThelonious monkfish wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 7:18 pmI might could be of assistance, let me root around in some boxes and see if there's a donor stem.
If you have anything let me know! It would be hugely appreciated.JTWilliams wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 11:26 amSame here...lookin around the inventoryThelonious monkfish wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 7:18 pmI might could be of assistance, let me root around in some boxes and see if there's a donor stem.

I have a few cobs.. and I probably have a dozen Forever Stems..... The deal with Walker is that the Forever Stems are no longer, however they are still offering pipe repair services.Citizen B wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:42 pmMy first thought was that it was Walker Briar Works, too, who could certainly replace the stem with something that is beautiful and indestructible, but only interchangeable between different cob pipes. They must make stems, too. It's what they do.Houtenziel wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:17 pmWhoops.. I checked http://www.walkerbriarworks.com/Old Welder wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:02 pm

I love my forever stem from them and I can't even count how many times I've dropped it. I think it cost me $17 but that was, probably, about 12 years ago, so, for what it is, I think it was money well spent. It still looks like new.
During covid, the Italian acrylic became hard to get and expensive.. So he decided to hang up the stem biz.

Thanks for the update. If an EU country can be run worse than Italy, I have yet to find it----and they have, I think, the 7th largest economy in the world the last time I looked it up!Chef Benny wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:31 amI have a few cobs.. and I probably have a dozen Forever Stems..... Italians can get away with things that regular people like you and me can't do, because they are charming. Charm will only get you so far when the price isn't right.
