I switched to Half and Half when PA and CH pouches were no longer available. The current version is great. Even better to me when dried for 8 hours. I just dump the pouch into a plastic food container and let it dry.
Wow 8 hours. Must be pretty crispy when you smoke it.
It gets rid of a lot of propylene glycol but still somewhat moist. Tastes better to me. I started with 12 hours but that was too much.

I'm a fan of crispy for certain smokes. My Hiz Honor's Signature blend is one and most recently and by accident, I found out that Middleton Cherry Blend match nudges closer to the real deal with some dry time.

I ordered some 2oz samples of LC VA/BURLEY, Pegasus, Virginia Gentleman, and Orion’s Arrow. They showed up a day early and have tried the LC VA/BUR and the Pegasus. Liked them both so far but Pegasus has a more complex flavor. Will get to the other two eventuality. Still love my dried H&H.

Half and Half is my favorite OTC and probably my favorite pipe tobacco of all time. My grandfather smoked it exclusively, his dad was a George Washington man. My grandfather passed away this summer so every time I have a bowl of it I smile and think of him. @Ruffinogold sent me some from the ‘50s and it was… just WOW.

Captain Black (and varieties) have been the biggest Gold Mine in pipe tobacco history. When STG acquired Lane Ltd. the value was driven by Captain Black.
