Both my dad and grandfather smoked a pipe until they had to stop, both were in their 70's, Kaywoodie fellas..I picked up the pipe because I got a real bad chest cold and I was a cig smoker, my father handed me one of his pipes and said it's time to stop smoking cigarettes.. I took me about a month to transition and I'm glad I did.

Tom/Ted used to call them MasterCrap on occasion. But I've had more than a few good ones pass through my hands. I'm not the biggest fan of the oval MC logo on the stems that I think came along later. Bing was a pitchman for Mastercraft during their heyday. Perhaps, when they were bought by Grabow, the oval stem insert was deemed cheaper than the Mastercraft name etched in briar. Either way, nice grain on your's Tom, very nice.
PS) I miss Tom. Like Ed, he was always good to me.

I have had good luck with them as well. This particular one does not have the stem quality of the Grabows of the same era. It tends to smoke a little fast.Wildcat wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 12:48 pmTom/Ted used to call them MasterCrap on occasion. But I've had more than a few good ones pass through my hands.
