Cake?
Your retired, Ron. I'm sure with all that front porch sitting and ice tea drinking that you do, a little briar maintenance will do you some good.Ronv69 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 11:08 pmThat sounds like a lot of work.simplepipes wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 9:19 pm I maintain the cake in my pipes to the approximate thickness of a fingernail . . .

The Troll Whisperer
I've never done as much physical labor in my life as I have since we bought this house. I've been cleaning land, building fences, finishing up the barn/shop and so much more.Bruyere_Royale wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 5:57 amYour retired, Ron. Predictably enough, I let mine go until it bothers me and ream it back to almost nothing to start the process all over. It is probably nickel thickness at the worst and paper thickness or a little thicker when reamed
I seem to be the only person on the planet to have problematic heel cake. It gets so thick I will be in the car trying to get a hole through it with a pick. It will be solid and eventually cover the draft completely. This requires a series of Castleford sizes and some pressure to ream out.
