Tonight called for a bit of port after dinner. Haven't cracked a bottle of port in a long time; Warre's Heritage Ruby is definitely scratching tonight's itch big time.
Mmmm, port!

Indeed. What are your preferred ports, @arturo7? I often buy Sandeman's Founders, but I do like to try others from time to time. There's an old school winery in Rancho Cucamonga, Galleano, that makes some remarkable ports and sherries from local grapes.

I like Ruby port, tawny not so much. Sandeman's or Warre's are consistently excellent. If it's good enough for the Queen of Denmark it's good enough for me. :king:

Ruby port, for me. Warrre's and Graham's.

Ahh, were that I was in a position to need port tongs! Unfortunately I can only afford to drink the non-vintage or LBV stuff.

Maybe one day...

The usual MO is to take a suggestion from one of the friendly folks at the local wine shop. Left to my own devices, I'll grab a tawny.

I won't allow myself to jump into the rabbit hole of wine. Being a beer snob it bad enough. Wine gets waaaay to expensive.

@arturo7, truer words were never spoken. But I do love wine, and I rely on Spanish wines a lot to provide good flavors at modest prices. I find Spanish wines to be excellent at accompanying the kinds of food that I like to eat. And of course here in California we are always flooded with good local wine options as well.

You can open any bottle with hot tongs it doesn't have to be vintage. You'll impress the missus, don't forget to light a candle.
