I read that the pickled eggs, lamb's tongues, pigs feet, sausages, etc. are "bar food". My mom ate pickled pigs feet regularly, which always got me out of the house.

85 cents an ounce. It's cheeper than Super Value Buttered Rum tobacco!

Tell me you're not salivating at the thought and I'll call you a liar.

Read the reviews. They will rock your world.
Mmmmm, pickled bologna...

All the good processed meats have tongue in them B! The really, really good ones have feet, claw, beak and hoof!

I thought everybody ate pickled bologna. Its a great snack with some saltines and some soda pop. Used to be beer when I could drink booze. Years ago country stores used to slice off a chunk and wrap it in wax paper for you if you didn't want a whole gallon'. All the grocery stores around here have it and we buy it now and then. The wife hasn't got back from evening church services yet so I can't verify, but I'm darn sure its a sight cheaper than what they sell on Amazon.

Upton Sinclair. The Jungle. It's a good book until the guy gets converted to the promises of socialism at the end. Hindsight is 20/20.

Here's some overeducated knucklehead who has never earned a callus on his hands talking about it:

I read the book. It made me a vegitarian for a day or two. Socialism already made me sick before reading it so no harm in the ending.

Pickled eggs, Penrose sausages, pickles pigs feet all remind of old school beer joints.

Brown's Bar. Clintondale, NY. Me, underage. 1980s. Beer served in juice glasses. Jars of pickled eggs on the bar. 3 beers and a pickled egg for a buck. I was king of the world. Two beers and a pickled sausage for a buck too. Small uneven pool table. Wood stove. Lots of old men. I hit my peak early.

Would I could go back.

Speaking of bar food, has anybody tried a Blind Robin? A dried rotton fish in plastc wrap that reeked of a run down bait shop at high noon in mid summer. I saw them in a few dives I frequented in ancient times and actually tried a nibble one time. Only a nibble and only one time. I could still taste it the next day. Too much beer is a dangerous thing in more ways than one.
