Little bit of progress on the ash today. Put a slight arch on the nose and tail because straight and rigid bothers me. 1/8" round over on all edges. Only sanded to 150 right now and I'll start raising the grain (the cool kids call it "water popping" lol) and sand 150 - 600 each time before finishing.
I officially have a couple of Sheppard brackets en route so I'll be getting back to the honey locust shelves asap as well
Wood working.

Everything is sanded out to 600, raised the grain in between from 150 on. Quick wipe with acetone and then these will get hit with osmo polyx oil

2 pieces finished. Decided to use a mix of a couple colors of rubio monocoat to add a little brown to the ash. They look better in sunlight but I only have shade available at the moment

That piece isn’t lignified enough. That mustve been harvested from a coppice area

And some honey locust shelves are finished with osmo polyx oil. Ordered steel brackets for 2 of them this morning that I'll probably acid wash and clear

Doing some prep work and trying to decide what color to go with in this walnut endgrain / cookie piece. It will make a respectable size side table or some such.
