Gotta mud it up tomorrow. Once it hardens, I'll try it out. I'm sure the bowl will get pretty hot.
Walnut Pipes
Well, I’ve loaded her up with SWRA and I’m heading for the porch. I predict she smokes hot and the failure mode will be separation at her natural seam (joint between the two shell halves). We will see.

Well, the shell did get pretty warm but if I kept a slow pace I didn’t have any trouble holding it. The oak stem didn’t seem to provide too hot of a smoke. The pipe didn’t explode or split. I’ll call it a success. But it’s a novelty and unless one of the months gets dedicated to walnut shell pipes it will most likely never see action again.

Okay, smoking my walnut pipe. The walnut shell or oak stem is giving it a strange flavor. not pleasant. The pipe is now hanging on the Christmas tree.
Same. What blend? Like I said, I went with SWRA and something about the pipe gave it a weird taste.
