It does taste like medicine. I think it was a nerve tonic way back in the day when it first came out. It's kind of a love it or hate it taste, and usually the first swig tells the tale.Mr Beardsley wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:45 pm I looked up moxie on the interwebs. Cheaper for me to drink beer so I'll stick with what I know

I have nothing against Faygo, having never tried it, because, when you've got Moxie, you don't need Faygo.

I feel like Moxie has been greatly toned down since I first had it many years ago. I believe that it is now under the Coca-Cola distribution umbrella whereas before it was independent. The same happened to Ale81 ("A Late One") here which was a KY product that was like a cross between lemon-lime and ginger ale, but it's also way toned down on the unique flavor and way ramped up on sugar. That seems to be the way with everything now. It all just tastes like... It does seem sweeter than when I was a kid, so you may be on to something. But I still enjoy an ice cold Moxie in a glass bottle.kschatey wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 3:45 pmI feel like Moxie has been greatly toned down since I first had it many years ago. I thought this had to be a Moxie soda commercial, but it seems to be about dolls. I watched until the end because I was sure that girl was going to a swig out of a glass bottle and say, "Make mine Moxie!"
It is all about Moxie.
It is all about Moxie.

I occasionally buy sugar free ginger ale here on the left coast. While it's still quite sweet it does have more snap than the regularkschatey wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 3:45 pmI feel like Moxie has been greatly toned down since I first had it many years ago. My first experience with Moxie seven years ago or so was a glass bottle. The last time just a couple years ago all I could find was plastic.MikeDennison wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 3:51 pmIt does seem sweeter than when I was a kid, so you may be on to something.
