I got home a couple hours early and decide to walk the streams a bit . I check on them after heavy rains to see what nature does to them . So , I did that a bit and then walked to the pole barn to check on an issue there . Its quite old and I have 1 structural issue I need to come up with a solution for . While at the pole barn , I made a phone call to get a second opinion on an idea I was having . After the call , I walked home [ about 100 yards ] . Got out of my work clothes and drove my son to night school .

Thing is , I grabbed my first pipe . I keep it in my tobacco " cellar " so that I see it each day [ what can I say ] . I took it with me to the streams , pole barn and home [ ? ] and I have no idea where it is .

Thankfully , I know I had it in the pole barn because I took a pic that I was gonna post here at the ways thread . I actually took 2 pics

Near the streams

later , at pole barn before returning home

I have a feeling I set it down at the pole barn and Ill go check with a flashlight in a bit . If I misplaced it somehow , here in the house , it will turn up . However , it wouldnt be odd for me to lose a pipe .. I do it pretty often

Ive had this pipe since the summer of 79 . Im hoping to have it still and I think I will ... but if not ... this is a sad story for me

Happy ending . Its back in its spot

But it could have gone the other way . This is why I dont travel with ultra fancy or sentimental pipes .... just smoke them on the porch . Because placing a pipe down for a moment can be walked away from and forgotten

Yeah , just smoking this on the porch again , lol

Me too . I was pretty confident I left it in the barn , though didnt really know . I made the post as a point of how easy it is to lose a pipe

Glad your pipe is safe but I’m chicken-eyeing some blends that died before I picked up a pipe!

Glad that one resolved to a happy ending quickly. It started out like a Hardy Boys mystery.
