Rossi Vittoria, MM Cobs, Kaywoodie, and my first Grabow; a bent freehand. That pipe smoked like a champ from the very beginning.

For the 80 - 150 price range
Entering Peterson territory
Nording
Savinelli ( but I’d cross check with Rossi because possibly get almost same pipe much cheaper)
Beyond this price point I really don’t have much experience to be suggesting

Rossi pipes smoke as well as the Savinelli for a fraction of the price. MM pipes are good smokers, but don't bring the same pleasure as a briar pipe. Everyone should have a Radice. As good as the Castello and I got most of mine for less than $150.

Early on I had quite a few savinelli pipes and not one of them would I call a good smoker. Now to be fair it was early on, and the tobacco I was smoking was different from the blends I've landed on nowadays so I don't doubt that could be a contributing factor. Also had a radice a bit later and it was a swampy turd for me. Didn't matter what I put in it. All of my pipes from Neal beat the brakes off the radice and came in under the price

I have lost count of the number of Savinellis I have a they have never been less than satisfactory. The 14 Radice pipes I have are all excellent.Mr Beardsley wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:21 pmEarly on I had quite a few savinelli pipes and not one of them would I call a good smoker. The South African guy? I used to really like the look of his pipes, but his latest haven't appealed to me. I admit that my artisan pipes from Ron Powell, Tim West, Basil Meadows, and others are better than the higher production makers, but not by much. And nothing beats the combination of smoking quality and hand feel of the Radice.Mr Beardsley wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:45 pmNeal MonierRonv69 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:37 pmNeal?Mr Beardsley wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:21 pm
