I've spent $40+ on cobs a few times. If MM could make some bamboo shanks with hardwood plugs and vulcanite I'd buy if they were priced in that range. But I have my choice of bamboo, and cumberland, and crap like morta plugs, so why drop that much on a factory pipe that's going to be rough fit and finished and need restemmed as I don't do acrylic.

I have a Doug Erwin modded cob that was given to me by another forum member. It's fantastic, way above my standard cobs. But I think he only sold them for 35 bucks.
