I lost 2 orange handled knives in a month when we first moved here. I have better luck with black handles as I haven't lost any. 3 years later the orange knives haven't shown up.

I’ve made two knives with hot pink G10 scales. I know one of them has skinned a number of deer. The fellow says it shows up well against fall colors here in NC.

I'll bet it would show up well. I'm a little bit color blind and orange doesn't look that different in light green grass. Light blue would work too.

Anybody see the announcement that Case is bringing back the Barlow for 2024?

I have reverted my old faithful. Opinel. PM me your mailing address again. I am notoriously absent-minded. It drives Mrs. King nuts. I will include a note with the Opinel telling you my expectations. They will not be instructions. You are the craftsman. I will tell you what it is like to carry this knife and where I find its shortcomings.

Be careful what you ask for.

Im with you . I think the normal 420hc is great . . I gave my mom my Buck Bantam a while back . Its been a couple months since Ive been down and it was dulled pretty good . She uses it for gardening ... cutting mulch bags , roots etc .. Anyway , I sharpened it on Saturday and it literally took 2 minutes . I have a harder time with other steels with not as good results . Some collector metro on youtube says it doesnt hold an edge , lol ... it holds one long enough and its called sharpening .. which every knife will need if its actually used

The Cold Steel Ranch Boss 2 went through a workout this am . Its the one I did that stupid potato / tomato patina thing to , lol . Anyway , just reporting back that this thing is a tank . Usually I would have had a fixed blade out with me this am [ on property ] but this guy was on my belt and I didnt want to go back to the house because of the distance . I wasnt planning on doing anything but I get an idea and then its too late . I did stupid shit with it and it wasnt fazed . Next time I go back out to that area , Ill bring a fixed for sure . This knife is a survivor.

Hold on.

Check out this Wikipedia article about Sardinian blades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resolza.

I only looked it up because the knife style was mentioned in passing in a Wall Street Journal article today and I wanted to know what it was.
