Nothing against the makers/price/whatever. Who actually likes these shapes? They just seem so unconventional to the point of difficult to enjoy smoking. Maybe it’s just me but Artisan pipe shapes just don’t do it for me. What is the weirdest shape you’ve seen?

I was (and still am) a huge fan of the Danish pipe makers. However I have never been a fan of the traditional "freehand" like the first example. And again they insist on a stem inspired by a table leg. I've never seen a cavalier that I liked. The second pipe with the stitched leather on the shank isn't my cup of tea but it's nowhere near as bad as I've seen
I still have a bamboo shank elephants foot that I should actually use more often when I'm not working

I think I'd say as art pieces, they're beautiful. Probably insane craftsmanship involved as well. From the smokers perspective, I've just never found a freehand that I personally enjoyed smoking. I'm sure there's one out there for me, but I haven't found it yet. I have a Nording freehand that's much more sentimental than anything and not something I smoke often.

Yesterday I saw a post with a couple of Lego pipes by Werner Mummert. Nothing I'd ever buy but I can appreciate the work he put into them.
There's guys like Uwe Maier doing really weird stuff too, like carving zippers on pipes and whatnot. I appreciate it. Never going to buy it.
Then there's people like monstrosity pipes. Never has a brand been named so perfectly. Absolute junk to my eye. But people buy them

A few examples of Uwe's work. Nothing I'd own but not hideous by any means (okay the nautilus is kind of ugly)

Not fer me. Too weird, too impractical, and too high falutin' for my simple, traditional tastes.
