The kind where the blades spin from the movement of the wheels? I used to have one of those. It was the best.

I wouldn't want to mow an acre with it, but it was handier than a scythe but it is always more gratifying to use a tool versus a machine.

A reel mower is what you’re thinking of, and no, I embrace the machine as cutting grass is rather boring for me.

Gad! A reel mower! What a freaking pain in the arse. When I was just a nugget, we had one o' those...and it was my job to mow the front yard with it. Holy crap that was a job. I'm with ya, @Plinsc...gimme a gas mower any day.
